Cool Box PCB GB693B
[ Pictures of box & control switches Later ]
Circuit diagram
Circuit diagram I drew, from a PCB (printed circuit board) of
a cool box .
PCB has on the back the lettering "GB693B".
I scanned
my circuit diagram to PDF
format using landscape mode.
Here's also PDF format,
but be warned, sometimes my tiff to PDF macros scramble back
to portrait so right side can be amputated (at least as shown
by xpdf, but not amputated at last check 2016-06-06).
Reason for this page:
I suspect if cable that came with box is an original, there
may have been a batch cable manufacturing fault. As I wrote
previous owner re his mislaid 12V cable:
I'll be interested to test cable when it turns up. I
believe it is mis wired, wrong polarity. I recall you said
you had to switch between Hot & Cold each time you
changed between 240V & 12V ? I've drawn the circuit
diagram from the board, analysed it, tested it with reverse
polarity, & seen the red Hot LED come on instead of
Green Cool LED.
Notes
- To unscrew lid of box, first remove sealing strip to
reveal lots of screws, also remove hinges. Removing hinges
alone is Not sufficient. Yes, sealing strip may be glued in
& removing it will damage the seal, so do that as
carefully as you can with a flat bladed screw driver,
carefully levering up to preserve glue. On later
re-installing strip, to allow for further later repairs,
rather than using glue, better to use double sided stick
tape.
- The 2 fans in box always rotate in one direction, cos of
the bridge rectifiers.
- I assume the 2 thick blue wires are a thermal cut out,
normaly shorted out to power the unit, & open if the
Peltier heat exchange element overheats.
