Reference your Verbose Corporate Footer (Disclaimer)

 Verbose disclaimers can be seen by sophisticated users & companies,
 as Spam filter criteria (along with HTML, fonts, sizes, & colours,
 Ref. http://www.berklix.com/~jhs/std/no_html_format.txt) as criteria
 to dump your mail as likely spam.
 
 Silly company footers translate to Internet Crackers (1) as:
      "We Are New To The Internet, Scared, Clueless,
       Naive, & vainly hope this legal hot air might protect us.
       Our Internet servers are more likely worse configured, insecure,
       & more vulnerable security targets than others."
 Lawyers may encourage silly footers, 
   - To provide an illusion of safety, but they don't combat Internet
      server intrusions & fakery attempts etc, (similarly not many firms
      burden the footer of every headed paper letter they
      send with daft verbose disclaimers, so why burden email ?).
 Is It Safer To:
   - Install no lock on a room full of valuables, & hang up a "Keep Out".
     Or fit a lock ?
   - Pay lawyers for hot air phrases ?  Or pay computer professionals to
     actually secure Internet servers & mail by using firewalls, encryption 
     & verification tools ?
   - Advertise incompetence in an email footer ? or avoid advertising
     incompetence & hope recipients assume you'r competent.
 Law:
   - Whose Law ?  The Net is global. There are hundreds of varied legal
     jurisdictions.  You may be abused or attacked from anywhere.
   - Unless you take competent technical precautions, you may never
     know if & from where (individual or which jurisdiction).
   - Even if you can track an abuser, they likely know most people can't
     afford time or money to prosecute, win or lose, & pay more fees to
     wait & pay again to enforce collection of damages possibly assigned.
   - Courts may consider a silly footer not a safety precaution, but 
     declaration of incompetence & negligence to secure things,
     (especially if eg mail is sent unencrypted, like an open postcard).
   - Better buy &/or learn to use technological security measures, not
     advertise your fear & vulnerability etc.
  -  Legal restrictions will be mostly invalid unless a prior non 
     disclosure agreement or contract exists between mail sender & recipient.
     ( & EG In UK, contract law differs even between England & Scotland ! )
 Viruses:
   - Claiming to have scanned outgoing mail for viruses is stupid:
     Anyone wanting to spread a virus could also claim the same.
     Mail senders are easily faked.  Viruses could be added en-route. 
   - What virus & operating system & processor class did you scan for ?
     did you make the dumb assumption nothing but Microsoft exists 
     Not all recipients use MS, (though MS is very virus prone).
   - Consider using eg Free BSD software with 24330 ported packages @ 
     7th May 2013, Free, No Viruses, With sources. http://www.berklix.com/free/
 Encryption / Authentication:
   - Simple email is like a postcard, not even sealed in an envelope, 
     open to view by computer proficient staff on intermediate hosts & nets.
   - If serious about sending secure information don't toss it round 
     in plain email, but encrypts it, e.g. with GPG or similar, else 
     it's culpable negligence of a sender to Not secure info he labels
     as confidential.
   - `Authentication Protocols' should be used for the credibility
     of anyone who claims in their footer, that they really care
     about secure information transfer, & want to insure against email
     identity theft/ fakery..

(1) Many mis-use the word `Hacker' when they mean `Cracker' :-
    Cracker:  Bad !  	Someone who attacks & invades computers.
    Hacker:   OK !	Someone who, often working quickly & as an unpaid
			volunteer, hacks up & fixes & extends often free
			sourced programs for public benefit.
			Think "Hack Journalist" & "Hack Horse" etc.
			Not malevolent, just cheap & affordable (maybe free) ?!
